VERY IMPORTANT FUCKER!!!! If you don't read / abide by these SIMPLE rules, you just wont fit in, sorry. Might we recommend R1 or GSXR forums for you...
We don't know you, but we care about anybody willing to sign up with this nuthouse full of people so if you decide to proceed, you need to agree to these details before doing so or risk the 24/7 harassment of people who care enough about you to give you shit for being a bozo "
Here are some basic points to go by when we ride as a group. These are simply guidelines that are for the safety of you & others.
• The leader is to have a head count of the group. A tail gunner is recommended when someone new is along for the ride. The tail gunner should be an experienced rider & know the route plan.
• The leader is to make sure that everyone is ready to roll before rolling away.
• The leader is to stop at each transition of the ride to bring the group back together so that nobody gets lost. When all are caught up, the tail gunner or the last person gives the leader a thumbs up to proceed. The last guy should know that he is actually the last guy.
• The leader is to give a pre-ride briefing discussing the route, telling everyone how many bikes there are, & advising of any other points of caution.
• Riders are to place themselves accordingly in the group. If your pace is faster ride towards the front. If you cruise place yourself towards the back. Have situational awareness of the rider behind you. If it appears that they have to slow down frequently or if they are giving hints that they want to pass move to the right & acknowledge that it is safe to do so. Accelerating in the straights can frustrate someone who wants to pass.
• Allow adequate space between you & the rider in front of you. On the slab etc… ride in a staggered formation. When in the canyons ride single file allowing more distance to compensate for potential hazards. Keep yourself visible in the other rider’s mirror. You should be able to see their visor.
• Don’t push your limits to keep up. Allow an adequate margin to compensate for hazards such as dirt or rocks, cyclists, animals, other oncoming riders/drivers etc…
• Wear proper gear. If you don’t have full leathers on then ride at a slower pace towards the back.
• Be on time.
• Post up if you are going to come.
• Show up with an adequate amount of gas to get to the next group fuel stop.
• Bring a properly maintained bike with good tires & adequate tire pressure.
• When you see others put their helmet on follow suit to eliminate holding up the group. It’s not fun baking in your gear.
• If you need to leave the ride early let someone know. Don’t just break off from the group.
• If you bring someone new with you make sure that you are comfortable with their riding skills. New riders will get a pre-ride briefing.
• Be patient when waiting for the rest of the group to catch up. We have all been in the back of the pack at some point.
• Post up that you made it home safely.
